Waste Water Treatment

Oxygen is also used in the forestry sector for wastewater treatment, in particular for odor removal and intensification of the activated sludge process. Liquid oxygen is used in liquid-fueled rockets as the oxidizer for fuels such as hydrogen and liquid methane.

The oxygen as a feed gas to an ozone generator and injected directly into the waste stream as an environmentally friendly oxidizing agent. Ozone is used for drinking water treatment, in particular when alternatives, such as chlorine, are undesirable.

On-site oxygen production has many advantages:

  • Operating cost reduction
  • No heavy cylinder bottles to handle
  • Enhanced safety as no more storage of high quantities of combustive gas, under pressure or in liquid cryogenic form
  • Ease of mind as the oxygen can be available 24×7. This means no more supply constraints
