Pulp and Paper

Wood pulp in its natural state, when cooked and compressed will be much too dark to write on. The lignin in the wood pulp would also cause the paper to lose its strength. Therefore, it has to be removed.

Chlorine has been used in the removal of lignin process but new process using oxygen and alkali (Oxygen Delignification) is proven to significantly reduce chemical bleaching cost, reduction of absorbable organic halides (AOX), and reduce wastewater treatment cost.

On-site oxygen production has many advantages :

  • Operating cost reduction
  • No heavy cylinder bottles to handle
  • Enhanced safety as no more storage of high quantities of combustive gas, under pressure or in liquid cryogenic form
  • Ease of mind as the oxygen can be available 24×7. This means no more supply constraints
